All the best known styles of yoga practiced in the West today are a form of Hatha. I teach traditional postures with a focus on alignment and breathing to help you find a healthy balance between body and mind. These lessons are suitable for everyone and the postures can be adapted to suit your needs.

Vinyasa flow synchronises a continuous succession of poses with your breathing, while encouraging your mind to remain focused. It can accommodate all levels of experience but it may be challenging for beginners and I encourage you to try Hatha yoga classes first.


This is a relaxing, calming, grounding style suitable for everyone, whether you're taking some time out of your fast-paced and stressful modern life or recovering from illness or injury. With its roots in Iyengar yoga, restorative yoga encourages you to relax as far into each posture as possible. These lessons are dedicated entirely to relaxation and teach you to focus on your breath and on the present as you stretch and soothe your body. It is slow and poses will be held for a significant time, allowing us to absorb the benefits of the twists and bends even more than usual. We will often use props to encourage the body to relax as deeply as possible.

Yoga can be greatly beneficial for children as well as adults. In our modern culture children face constant pressures that can have a profound impact on their future wellbeing. Yoga gives children the chance to play, to pause, to practice mindfulness, to focus on caring and sharing, on being kind and thoughtful towards themselves, each other and the world. Roots Yoga offers small groups the chance to get together and have some fun while benefiting mental and physical health.
